Sierra de Segura y Cazorla and Sierra de Castril.
Jaén.
Jaen is the least known of the Andalusian provinces. With it’s endless fields of olive trees it’s the largest olive oil producing
area in the world. The province is sparsely populated and
therefore offers excellent opportunities to relax and enjoy nature.
The largest natural park in Spain is the Sierra de Cazorla,
Segura & las Villas, with its highest peak at around
2100m. It offers visitors many possibilities: a gigantic water reservoir
“El Pantano del Tranco”, the source of
the main Andalusian river “el Guadalquivir”,
that flows to the Atlantic, and smaller streams like
the Guadalentin and the Borosa with beautiful waterfalls
on their way downhill.
Cazorla; Segura de la Sierra and Castril are little
old towns with restaurants and shops.
The historic cities of Ubeda and Baeza are part of the World
Heritage list and are worth a visit. Both cities have many
buildings built in the Renaissance style.
Le Chien Andalous offers a light filled apartment
complex in the “Segura de la Sierra”
and three large old farmhouses with a swimming pool near Castril.
Ideal for groups.
