You can find this 200 year old farm, with it’s 7 rental properties, in the Sierra de Filabres, at a height of 1200 metres (3900 ft) in the province of Almeria.
Cortijo Filabres is located 2.5 km from the village of Laroya and about 60 km from Vera Playa beach and some 80 km from Almería-city.

These houses are restored in the authentic style of the region but have all modern amenities.
The holiday rentals of Cortijo Filabres have a capacity for 2, 4, 6 or 8 people. They are all equipped with central heating and a fire place.
The houses for 6 or more people have two bathrooms: one with shower and another with a bathtub.
Each house has it’s own terrace with a barbecue. Some of the houses are especially equipped for disabled people.
There is a shared pool for all the houses.
In the Cortijo there is a meeting room and a dining room which offers space for some 50 people. Ideal for groups

Around the Cortijo you will find the peace; nature and space of a mountainous area with an abundance of Olive and Almond trees and views of the Almanzora valley and the marble quarries of Macaël. The area has wild Boar; Foxes; Badgers; Owls; Deer and Eagles.
The Filabres Mountains average 1500 metres. The highest peak, Calar Alto (2100 metres) has an astronomical observatory, with the same name, near it.

Nearby the Cortijo Filabres 4x4 excursions are organised where you can learn about the flora and fauna and you can also go horse riding.
Somewhat further a field is the spot where spaghetti-westerns like ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ starring Clint Eastwood and directed by Sergio Leone were filmed. Here in the desert of Tabernas you can visit these western-villages with scenes of shooting and cancan-performances. You can also visit the zoo there.
Highly recommended is an excursion to Cabo de Gata Natural Park and the villages of San José and Nijar.
